Can you do exercises to strengthen the leg/knee muscles ? I’m preparing for a knee replacement and want my muscles as strong as possible to help with recovery.

Love this! I have been going to aquatic therapy for several months now, and recently changed to doing the exercises in a pool (no cost and my schedule). This will help me with different exercises.
I think this workout in particular will be helpful as there is no impact and the moves are designed with arthritis exercises. We also have a free 18-minute shallow water "Joint-Tune Up" video available. Poolfit.tv

What abt shoes? Can do water excercise wothout shoes?
Water shoes are recommended for shallow water exercise to support feet from the impact and protect the from rough or slippery pool floors..

I think you said that this works your glutes and your hand strains. Does it stretch it and strengthen it because I need to stretch it cause they’re so tight.
To stretch, just leave your leg extended over the noodle without adding the movement. You can hinge a bit forward from the hip to deepen the stretch.

Your English writing is perfect! Fitmotivation.com and Poolfit.tv do not have any Aqua Step videos. We try to avoid videos with specialized equipment because most instructors and fitness consumers do have the equipment, and access to Aqua Steps is very limited here in the U.S.

What about 4 ft deep pools
I would think 4 ft pools would be a shallow water workout for most people, and therefore a belt is not needed

How do you explain this one to your students?
It is just a common shoot through - front to back or back to front that is done in classes all the time. Some call it a "Rock & Roll" or a "Sun Tan Super Man." I tell them: "Straddle a noodle and shoot your feet behind you and then in front of you."

Thank you- and may I mention that when doing a side leg lift (hip abduction) the toes should point straight ahead (not to the side) so that the following muscles are strengthened: gluteus minimus, gluteus medius, and tensor fascia latae. All the best.

I agree. Deep water is the perfect place for you to exercise while you rehab your ankle. Probably best to just Google "Deep Water Flotation Belt" I prefer HYDRO-FITs Deep Water belt...but it is on the higher price point. (around $60) If you are going to continue with deep water fitness, it would be worth it.
